Rev'd Eileen Heaney has been the Priest in charge at St Marks Church here in Scarisbrick, for the past five years. She and the congregation at St Marks are working closer and closer with everybody at Bescar lane Methodist Church and firm friendships and relationships have grown.
On Sunday 13th January 2019, Eileen's title changed from Priest in Charge to Incumbent (Vicar) and there was a special licensing service at 3.00pm at St Marks Church led by Bishop Beverley the newly ordained Bishop of Warrington.
The singing group, aptly named the Happy Thursdays (because they meet on a Thursday to practice) formed from three churches of Scarisbrick they will lead our songs and hymns.
We would like to take this oppertunity to congratulate Rev'd Eileen Heaney and to thank her for all her hard work within the community.
Eileen is down to earth and has a wonderful sense of humour, she is approachable and has compassion. She has a heart for rural ministry recognising the needs in the countryside as being just as relevant as those of the inner cities. Her vision is to share the Gospel throughout our village and beyond, her love of Jesus inspires others it’s a privilege sharing ministry with her.
